Before heading to my last ice fishing tournament of the season, I called my good friend, Dave Ellis, to see if he had time to fish before headed out of town to work. We hit the lower Pere Marquette River around 3:30p; and with Dave’s first drift, he hooked and lost one. I got on the board with a low teen female in our next spot.
The fish were biting well tonight for us. We fished four spots and hooked at least one in every spot, usually with one of the first drifts. Dave got on the board in our third spot where we hooked six fish in a little over an hour of fishing. Dave ended our little trip with a nice male. There should be a few weeks of good fishing down low before the fish all move up to spawn, so don’t wait if you want to get out with me on the Pere Marquette River!
