Michigan’s guided steelhead fishing trips are from early October thru mid to late May. Fall steelhead are the most aggressive and the hardest fighting. They follow the salmon up river to feed on their eggs and flesh as the salmon spawn. As the salmon die off and winter arrives, the steelhead drop into the deeper, slower water. They remain in this pattern from December thru March. As spring and warmer weather approach, steelhead start their spawning around mid-April thru mid to late May.
We offer trips on the Big Manistee River, Muskegon River, lower Pere Marquette River, and Grand River using conventional and fly fishing gear.
