FISHING REPORTS

Pere Marquette River

Live vicariously through our daily fishing experiences.
Being a designated National Scenic River since November 1978, the Pere Marquette River flows through beautiful rural areas from Ludington past Baldwin, Michigan. The sections of the river in Ludington, Scottville, and Custer are heavily traveled by anglers, canoers, kayakers, and other outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year.

As a designated Blue Ribbon fishery, various fish can be found in the 63.9 miles of the Pere Marquette River between Pere Marquette Lake in Ludington to the Baldwin River. Steelhead/Rainbow trout were stocked in the river in 1876, but king salmon were not introduced until the 1960s.
Guided salmon trips are available from August 20th thru end of September on the Pere Marquette River. We return to the Pere Marquette River in late October to chase the fall steelhead.

Zach fished the lower Pere Marquette River today and said that the bite was good. With all of the rain coming, however, I think it is going to turn to mud. As a result, we probably will not be back until late October for steelhead season.
